SUSAN BETH
I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t creating. Art was my first language and is still my best form of expression. My art education includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moore College of Art and Design, Philadelphia, and two years of illustration from The New York Botanical Garden, NYC.
Additionally, I received a Master of Social Work from the University of Cincinnati. This education allowed me to achieve one my proudest accomplishments of directing an art program serving individuals living with disabilities and dementia. Part of this program was also mentoring and teaching art and social work students who were vital to our success.
After illustrating and creating graphic designs with traditional media and digitally for many years, I decided to get back to raw materials, branching into 3D using mixed media. I chose wine corks and other recyclables for many reasons; they are easy to obtain and an enjoyable challenge to work with, and I love the idea of upcycling trash into beautiful art and keeping material out of our landfills. There are countless things that inspire me, but one of the biggest influences on my work has been Zentangle. Since 2017 I have been practicing this meditative art form. The patterns inspired by Zentangle and from my own observations of nature and architecture have been a vital inspiration with all media I create with. I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I've loved making it for you!
I am an empty nester with two grown sons in two different states and a grown husband still at home When I’m not working, I enjoy reading, volunteering, spending time with friends and hiking with our two adorable fur babies: beagle sisters Coco & Chloe.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
